Prior
to Installation A. The
staircase must meet building code. B. Stairs
must be dry with a solid substrate. C.
Floor must be lead. Any unevenness may not exceed +/-3/24"
(2mm). D. Existing hard floors such as
ceramic tiles, linoleum or vinyl, with substantial adhesion
to the stair base can not be used as substrate. E.
Read adhesive directions thoroughly.
NOTE: Since this is not a floating floor product, stair panels
must be glued down.

Installation without vertical
step 1. We recommend installing
from top to bottom. 2. To determine the
existing stair dimension, "click" the moderna stair planks into
position. (Fig #A) 3. Transfer the measured
width and length of the stair on to the back of the assembled
plank. (Fig #B) 4. Apply adhesive and install
the corner dowels. (Fig #D) If necessary, insert the end block
plane to the cut surface. 5. Apply adhesive
from back to front edge. (Fig #E) 6. Set
the assembled stair planks in place and press down tightly.

Installation with vertical step
Use one moderna Laminate Flooring Plank per stair as the
vertical step. 1-2. Same as without
vertical step 3. Mid 3/8" (10mm) to
the predetermined stair depth for the vertical step panel. (Fig
#B&C) 4-6. Same as without vertical
step 7. Remove the lower groove. (Fig #F)
8. With stair planks installed, apply adhesive
to the back of the vertical step. (Fig #G) 9.
Insert the upper vertical step. (Fig #H) Use moderna Color
Sealant to fill any gap between the stairnose profile and the
vertical step. (Fig #I) |
Finishing instructions
for both versions 9. For
enhanced appearance, we recommend that you glue or nail molding
to the edge. (Fig #J) Another finishing option is to seal the
joint with matching moderna Color Sealant. (Refer to Fig
#I) 10. Any visible surface cuts on the
slair edge profile can be touched up with matching moderna
Color Fill. (Fig #K) |
